I’m from the northeast US, originally from Massachusetts, with long stretches of time first in Providence, Rhode Island, and then Washington, DC. I’ve been a photographer from a young age, and started as a photography major in fine arts school (Rhode Island School of Design) before switching to architecture. After working in architecture for several years I went through business school (Carnegie-Mellon). During most of my career since business school I’ve worked for large financial institutions, with my largest concentration of work in managing institutional real estate investments. But that’s in the past! I now have more time to spend on photography, and at the same time engage in some modestly adventuresome activities. I have also maintained my architecture license, and like to work on small projects. I’m starting this web log to share my photography and other activities with friends and folks who are interested – and to explore ideas and subjects of interest.
I hope to make this web log more than just a photo-sharing site, and will be using photo essays to accompany topics of interest that I’m curious about – from both an aesthetic and intellectual point of view. I am curious about a lot a things, so the subject matter and activities could be broad. I love activities that combine technical and aesthetic elements. Photography is like that for me – as are architecture, motorcycling, scuba diving, and hiking in high mountains!
